Draft — not legal advice
Privacy
This page explains, in plain language, what Callwise would do with call data once it runs for real clinics. It is a working draft for the private preview. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a privacy notice you can rely on.
Who is who
The clinic or business that uses Callwise decides what is recorded and how long it is kept. Callwise processes call data on the clinic's behalf. Callers should contact the clinic first about their data.
What a call produces
- The caller's phone number, and a name if the caller gives one.
- A transcript of what the agent and the caller said.
- A short AI summary, plus the intent, outcome and sentiment of the call.
- An audio recording, only when the clinic has turned recording on.
- Any booking made on the call, and notes staff add afterwards.
Recordings and consent
Recording is a per-workspace setting. When it is on, the agent plays a recording notice at the start of the call. Recording consent laws differ by state and country, and some require every party to agree. The clinic is responsible for checking the rules that apply to it before turning recording on.
Retention and erasure
The clinic sets how many days recordings and transcripts are kept. A person with the right permission can erase a caller: their profile is removed and their past calls are anonymised. Recordings are stored privately and can only be opened by staff who have access to calls in that workspace.
Sub-processors
To answer a call, Callwise relies on these services. In the private preview they are simulated or defined as contracts only:
- Telephony (Twilio-compatible): Phone numbers, inbound and outbound calls, call recordings.
- Callwise voice service: Speech to text, the language model and text to speech in one low-latency loop over WebRTC and SIP.
- Anthropic Claude: Call summaries, intent and sentiment, and text tests of a draft script.
- SMS: Confirmation and reminder texts.
The final list, with company names and locations, will be published before launch.
Health data
Calls to clinics can contain health information. Callwise is not yet certified or audited for HIPAA, GDPR or KVKK, and has no business associate agreements in place. Do not route real patient calls through the preview.
